Born in New Jersey and raised in Sugar Land, Catherine developed an early passion for math, science, and engineering while attending Harmony School of Innovation, now known as Harmony School of Excellence. Her interest in engineering first took shape through the school’s PLTW engineering program, laying the foundation for her future career in infrastructure and civil systems.
Catherine later earned her Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from The University of Texas at Austin, along with a minor in Business and a certificate in Computer Science.
After graduating, she began her career at a civil engineering consulting firm, where she focused on the design and analysis of water and wastewater infrastructure systems. In this role, she developed hydraulic models and demand simulations to evaluate system capacity and support long-term infrastructure planning efforts.
Today, Catherine serves as a Technical Resource Engineer at Rinker Materials, where she develops engineered precast concrete solutions for civil infrastructure projects. Her work includes supporting engineers, departments of transportation, and municipal agencies with technical design decisions while helping refine storm drain specifications in accordance with TxDOT, ASTM, and AASHTO standards.
Currently based in Austin, Catherine enjoys bouldering, traveling, and solving the daily New York Times games outside of work.
Areas of Expertise
Catherine’s journey reflects the importance of combining technical knowledge, analytical thinking, and collaborative problem-solving to help shape the infrastructure systems communities rely on every day.
